Partnership with Kaa IoT
The 2022 HBCU Smart Cities Challenge, is excited to announce a collaboration with Kaa IoT, an enterprise IoT platform for device management, data collection, analytics, and visualization that will support students throughout the HBCU Smart Cities Challenge. The Kaa IoT Cloud is a developer-friendly cloud environment that will help students build their IoT solutions via an intuitive user interface and connect their devices to the cloud while tracking and analyzing data. Students will have access to an all-inclusive IoT PaaS environment that's secure and easy to configure which supports flexibility in managing devices and dashboards.
As one of the leading international companies focused on end-to-end IoT solutions, Kaa IoT will support students with educational workshops on device management and database configuration.
“We’re excited to participate in HBCU Smart Cities Challenge and the Kaa team looks forward to meeting other leading minds in the smart city sphere. Smart cities are at the vanguard of societal development and IoT places a crucial role in this process. We hope to contribute to the event with a hands-on workshop “Intro to IoT: Devices, Databases, and Dashboards” and are confident that the Kaa platform will help participants implement their most innovative ideas and tackle the challenges that we face every day,” said Kaa IoT’s CTO, EVP Andrew Kokhanovskyi.
Cities, educational entities, and technology partners have committed to supporting the Challenge, recognizing that the infrastructure and human capital that resides within Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) are well-positioned to meet the urgent needs of the nation’s cities. These partners and more are participating in a Challenge that leverages future entrepreneurs, community leaders, and innovators to build smart applications for their communities.
"We are excited to work with Kaa IoT in the inaugural year of the HBCU Smart Cities Challenge. As we strive to expose students to a new model of learning and problem-solving for the communities they love, it is software partners like Kaa IoT that make this Challenge possible. The need for end-to-end solutions in IoT and other emerging technologies for city development is clear: Both are necessary to advance our communities quickly and efficiently. We look forward to working alongside Kaa IoT as we endeavor to center HBCU talent as problem solvers and developers of a new world." - Ayinde Simon, Director of City Partnerships for the HBCU Smart Cities Challenge
